Hey, I'm Deb.
Port maker, occasional vine pruner, and fierce dumpling enthusiast.
I didn’t head off to uni after school (despite acing painting, photography, and geography in 7th form). Instead, I dove headfirst (quite literally) into new adventures.
I got my dive ticket at 12, became a serial bridesmaid (seven times and counting... rom-com material, right?), and eventually found myself obsessed with the science of wine.
At 22, I was working at Akarua and geeking out over viticulture and oenology.
After years of vineyard graft and winery life, I started Tannacrieff - named after my great-grandmother’s family farm back in Ayrshire, Scotland.
What began as a small experiment has now become something much bigger (and stronger).
New Zealand’s biggest Port producer.

These days, I’ve hung up my winemaking hat to focus solely on Port - because honestly, Tannacrieff has taken over in the best possible way.
Every bottle is handcrafted here in Bannockburn, with the same vision, grit, and sense of humour that’s fuelled me since day one.
So if you’re here for wine, you’re a little late.
But if you’re here for Port, rich, bold, small-batch Port - then you’ve found your people.
